On Tuesday, November 25, SouthPromo.com joined forces with Miami-Dade Corrections & Rehabilitation, Tax Me Corp, Demesmin & Dover Law Firm, and BLACC/AHF to successfully host the 6th Annual Blessing on the Block Turkey & Grocery Distribution at Gwen Cherry Park in Miami. Formerly known as Feast for the Streets, the annual initiative once again served as a critical lifeline for families during the Thanksgiving season.

Held from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the event provided free turkeys, groceries, hot meals and ice cream to local residents on a first-come, first-served basis, with one distribution per vehicle. Hundreds of families lined up early, reflecting both the strong community turnout and the growing need for food support across South Florida.
This year’s Blessing on the Block carried heightened importance as many families faced unprecedented challenges, including paused SNAP benefits, reduced assistance allocations, and the impact of a federal government shutdown. These compounding issues placed additional strain on household budgets during an already difficult holiday season, making access to food and resources more critical than ever.
“What we’re experiencing right now is bigger than holiday need—it’s about ensuring that families don’t go hungry during a time of national uncertainty,” said Juan Diasgranados, Public Affairs Manager for Miami-Dade Corrections & Rehabilitation. “With SNAP benefits temporarily halted and the government shutdown affecting so many working families, it is our responsibility as public servants and community partners to step in. Blessing on the Block allows us to show up with compassion, dignity, and real resources. This is why we do this work, and why we will continue to do it year after year.”
The event was made possible through a strong coalition of partners, sponsors, and volunteers who worked together to ensure smooth operations and a welcoming experience for every family served. Recording artist Trina joined as a community partner, helping amplify awareness and support for the initiative and reinforcing the importance of collective action.
As co-producers, SouthPromo.com supported planning, partner coordination, and on-site execution to help deliver an organized, respectful, and impactful distribution. The success of the 6th Annual Blessing on the Block underscores the power of collaboration between public agencies, nonprofits, private organizations, and community advocates.
More than a food distribution, Blessing on the Block continues to represent hope, resilience, and unity—proving that when communities come together, families are supported and no one is left behind during the holidays.
