On Saturday, May 17, 2025, the spirit of Haitian pride was alive and vibrant in North Lauderdale as hundreds gathered to celebrate the 2nd Annual Haitian Flag Day Festival, a free community event hosted by Mayor Samson Borgelin and the City of North Lauderdale.

SouthPromo.com was proud to play a central role in this cultural celebration, working alongside the City’s Parks & Recreation Department and event partners to help curate and execute key portions of the event that honored Haitian heritage, empowered youth, and united the community.

As part of our collaboration with the City of North Lauderdale, the SouthPromo.com team led three major components of the festival:

Student Art Showcase

We coordinated an inspiring Student Art Showcase that highlighted the talent and creativity of local youth. Through visual art, students shared what Haitian culture means to them—from history and music to food and family. The display became a moving centerpiece for attendees and underscored the importance of artistic expression in cultural education.

Kid’s Zone

We developed a fun-filled Kid’s Corner designed to keep the youngest festival-goers engaged. This area featured Haitian flag arts & crafts, bounce houses and inflatable games, photobooth opportunities, and games. Attending families expressed heartfelt appreciation for this dedicated space where kids could safely play, learn, and celebrate Haitian heritage.

Parade Coordination

We also took the lead on organizing the vibrant Haitian Flag Parade, which officially kicked off the event. The parade featured schools, local organizations, churches, and cultural groups. The procession was led by the energetic Sound Check Be Heard Band, whose rhythms set the perfect tone for an evening of cultural pride and unity.

We were honored to partner with Thelar Management Group, who played a major role in coordinating entertainment, booking dynamic performers, and curating a diverse vendor experience that highlighted Haitian music, food, and small businesses. Their expertise and professionalism helped elevate the overall event into a true community success.

With performances by Rodney Mérard, Abojah Da Godman, Marie Ketsia Theodore-Pharell, Aroze Troubadour, Rolaindji Désir, Bagèt Sant Dans Ayiti, and others, the festival was both a showcase of talent and a tribute to the resilience and richness of Haitian culture.

SouthPromo.com is deeply committed to producing impactful, inclusive events that reflect the communities we serve. The Haitian Flag Day Festival was a shining example of what’s possible when public leaders, creatives, and community organizations come together to celebrate culture, empower youth, and make lasting memories.
