On Saturday, November 15, 2025, the City of North Lauderdale welcomed hundreds of residents to the Mayor & Commission’s Day of Thanksgiving, a community-wide giveback event focused on gratitude, service, and support. Hosted by Mayor Samson Borgelin and the Commissioners of the City of North Lauderdale, in partnership with Tax Me Corp and SouthPromo.com, the event took place at the North Lauderdale Sports Complex and served as a powerful reminder of what’s possible when leadership and community come together.
As co-hosts and event producers, SouthPromo.com worked closely with city leadership to curate and execute an impactful experience designed to support families ahead of the holiday season. From early planning and logistics to marketing, partner coordination, and on-site execution, the event was thoughtfully organized to ensure accessibility, efficiency, and a welcoming atmosphere for all attendees.
Community members received free turkeys and groceries, along with access to health screenings, free haircuts, community services, free hot food, and a kid-friendly fun zone. The first-come, first-served event created a festive yet meaningful environment where families could prepare for Thanksgiving while connecting with local resources and support systems.
The event was attended and supported by city leadership, including Vice Mayor Darrel Lewis-Ricketts, Commissioner Luke Lewis, Commissioner Dr. Regina Martin, and Commissioner Mario Bustamante, all of whom played a visible role in welcoming residents and reinforcing the City’s commitment to community well-being.
Partnerships with organizations such as Farm Share, Humana, and numerous local businesses and media partners helped expand the reach and impact of the event. Volunteers and community partners worked side by side to ensure smooth operations and positive experiences for every family served.
The Mayor & Commission’s Day of Thanksgiving was more than a food distribution—it was a moment of unity, gratitude, and collective care. SouthPromo.com is proud to have co-hosted and produced an event that not only addressed immediate needs, but also strengthened community connections and highlighted the importance of collaboration between local government, nonprofits, and businesses.
As SouthPromo.com continues its mission of producing culturally relevant, community-driven events, this Thanksgiving celebration stands as a meaningful example of how intentional planning and partnership can create lasting impact.
