The holiday spirit was alive and thriving in Fort Lauderdale as hundreds of South Florida families gathered for the highly anticipated 2nd Annual “Caresha Gives” Toy Giveaway hosted by Caresha “Yung Miami” Brownlee of the chart-topping rap duo City Girls.

Held on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Reverend Samuel Delevoe Memorial Park, the community-wide event brought together music artists, nonprofit organizations, elected officials, local businesses, and volunteers for an unforgettable day dedicated to uplifting children and supporting families during the holiday season.

With inflation and economic challenges continuing to impact households across South Florida, the event served as more than just a toy giveaway — it became a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together to pour love back into families in need.

A Day Filled with Joy, Support & Holiday Magic

Families lined up early to participate in the festive drive-thru and walk-up experience that provided:

  • Free toys for children newborn through 15 years old

  • Complimentary food and refreshments

  • Face painting and family activities

  • Photos with Santa Claus

  • Holiday entertainment and music

  • Community resources and outreach support

Children were filled with excitement as they received gifts and interacted with volunteers, while parents expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support during a time when many families are facing financial strain.

The atmosphere throughout the park was full of laughter, smiles, music, and emotional moments that reflected the true meaning of the holiday season.

Leading the effort was Miami native and hip hop superstar Caresha “Yung Miami” Brownlee, who personally participated in distributing toys and spending time with families throughout the event.

Joining her in giving back were fellow hip hop artists Trina and Loe Shimmy, both of whom helped create memorable moments for attendees while showing their commitment to supporting South Florida communities.

For many families, seeing artists and public figures actively involved in serving the community created a meaningful and inspiring experience for both children and parents alike.

Supporting Families During Difficult Economic Times

As grocery prices, rent, childcare costs, and everyday essentials continue to rise, organizers emphasized the importance of creating events that directly support working families and underserved communities.

“This event was about more than toys,” said organizers during the event. “It was about reminding families that they are seen, valued, and supported by their community. Sometimes even a small act of kindness can relieve a tremendous amount of stress during the holiday season.”

Many parents shared emotional stories about how the event helped relieve financial pressure while allowing them to create special holiday memories for their children.

Building a Tradition of Giving Back

Now in its second year, “Caresha Gives” continues to grow into one of South Florida’s most impactful holiday community initiatives, combining entertainment, philanthropy, and community outreach into one powerful experience.

The overwhelming turnout and positive community response further highlight the ongoing need for grassroots initiatives focused on uplifting youth, supporting families, and strengthening neighborhoods throughout South Florida.
