On Sunday, November 22, 2020, SouthPromo.com teamed up with DTLR, JMC Income Tax Services, and DJ Nasty of 99 Jamz to distribute 150 turkeys and produce boxes to families in need living in Broward County.
As the Drive-Thru Turkey Distribution event kicked off at 2:00PM at DTLR located at 2660 W Broward Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, hundreds of cars sat patiently in line waiting for their chance to grab a free Thanksgiving Day bird. One by one cars popped their trunks and pulled up to the front of the store where they were greeted with smiling faces and volunteers putting their free groceries in vehicles. We were even met by a gentleman who only had a bicycle, but made sure he had enough room on it to so that he would be able to carry his turkey and produce home.
“We are so thankful for you all,” says one drive-thru attendee. “This is such a blessing. Times have been hard since COVID hit. I use to plan such elaborate Thanksgiving meals, but this year, I am just happy to be able to feed my small family a traditional turkey dinner.”
